There was a study on the possibility of using an external product called Maximus. However it was verified that some requirements would not be covered by this solution, such as the compliance to the layout and accessibility standardization of applications available on the Company's Intranet. It was decided that a new application would have to be constructed, as a thin layer on the Intranet, that would allow users to request some actions such as the transfer of ownerships between employees, retirement of equipments, the physical inventory taken in order to verify the existence of equipment among others. The system would have also to control the approval process of these requests.
